John Stephen, PT, PPD, Cert. MDT, COMPT Clinic Director for Rehab Specialists Clinic Director for Rehab Specialists

John is a master clinician (PT) specializing in advanced Orthopedic manual techniques and the clinic director for Rehab Specialists. He received his Post-Professional Clinical Doctorate in 2006 with a concentration in advanced Orthopedics. He graduated as a physiotherapist in the early 90's and has over 28 years of clinical expertise. Dr. Stephen is also an APTA Credentialed Clinical Instructor and has taught many courses. With extensive experience in treating back and neck pain with radiating symptoms, he has an active interest in sharing his expertise through mentoring. Dr. Stephen is McKenzie certified and has extensive Orthopedic manual training in extremities and spine. He is certified in spinal manipulative therapy in Ireland through Manual concepts, Australia and a certified orthopedic manual therapist (COMPT) as well as Graston technique trained. He has worked with area surgeons and physicians in developing evidence-based protocols for Orthopedic, Neuro-Surgical and sports medicine conditions. Dr. Stephen's research interests include interventions for peripheral neuropathy and he has successfully developed an evidence-based protocol for treating peripheral neuropathy and has published a book on peripheral neuropathy, called Peripheral Neuropathy: A Patient's Guide to Self-Management (available on Amazon).

Andrew J Fate, MSPT, MBA, COMT, DipABLM Administrative Director for Rehab Specialists

Andy has a Master of Science in Physical Therapy degree from Grand Valley State University in 2002 and an MBA degree from Cornerstone University. Andy has extensive experience as an Orthopedic manual physical therapist and is a dedicated clinician. He is a certified orthopedic manual therapist (COMT). His patients often describe him as a very caring and compassionate therapist who often goes above and beyond to make patients better. Andy is currently one of the few LSVT certified clinicians in SW Michigan and has expertise in treating Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders. Andy also has Mckenzie, manual, geriatrics and sports medicine training. Andy is certified in rock taping (Kinesio taping) and rock blades (Instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization). Recently Andy completed his lifestyle medicine certification and a board-certified Life Style Medicine Professional.

Amy Rogers, DPT, CBIS, COMT Clinical Supervisor/ Certified Brain Injury Specialist

Amy graduated from the University of Michigan – Flint with her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2013. Amy is the clinical supervisor for Rehab Specialists and helps with day to day clinical operations. She is a Certified Brain Injury Specialist and has spent a vast amount of time treating the post-concussion syndrome. She is Mckenzie trained and certified orthopedic manual therapist (COMT) for spine and peripheral joints. Amy also has experience working with vestibular and balance disorders, oncology rehabilitation as well as general neurological conditions. Amy is also an APTA Credentialed Clinical Instructor. Amy is a life-long learner who is dedicated to providing the best care for her patients, and truly enjoys working as a Physical Therapist.

Rhane Martin, DPT, CSCS,COMT

Rhane received his DPT from the University of New England in 2018. Since then, he has been treating patients in an outpatient orthopedic setting. He has extensive experience treating vestibular disorders, practicing Functional Dry Needling, and he is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He is also certified in IASTM (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization), Functional Capacity Evaluations, and is a Certified Master Dry Needler. Rhane will be pursuing his orthopedic manual training and looks forward to helping as many patients as he can.

Brenton Rozycki, DPT, COMT

Brenton received his Bachelors Degree as a Kinesiology Major from Michigan State University and his Doctorate of PT from UM-Flint in 2011. Since then, he has been practicing as a Physical Therapist for 12 years with a focus in orthopedic/sports rehab and manual therapy. His certifications include Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT), Functional Dry Needling, SFMA/FMS (Selective Functional Movement Assessment/Functional Movement Screening) and ASTYM (Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization).He is also McKenzie trained in spine. Brenton's favorite part of being a PT is the patient interaction and helping assist each patient in reaching their goals. Brenton was born and raised in Boyne City, MI and enjoys travelling and outdoor activities with his family. In his spare time he enjoys watching sports, playing golf and chasing around his two young kids!

Courtney Huver, DPT,COMT

Courtney graduated from Hope College with a degree in Exercise Science. While at Hope, she was a part of the dance department and performed in showcases. After graduating from Hope she went on to Grand Valley State University to earn her doctorate in physical therapy. Post graduation, she took courses to become certified in LSVT- BIG and Pelvic floor therapy. She is also Mckenzie trained in Spine and currently in the process of earning her certification in orthopedic manual therapy. Her favorite aspect of being a physical therapist is getting people back to what they want to do and giving them the hope that they can continue their favorite activities. Outside of work, Courtney likes to hike, do yoga, travel, and spend time with her husband, their two cats and their puppy.

Alicia Marsh, DPT

Alicia graduated from Rosalind Franklin University with a doctorate in physical therapy. She has experience working with amputees, general neurological disorders, vestibular and balance disorders, lymphedema, and chronic or phantom pain using Graded Motor Imagery. Alicia is LSVT certified to treat Parkinson's patients and will be obtaining her certification in McKenzie treatment and orthopedic manual therapy. She is a dedicated learner who strives for optimal patient care. In her spare time, Alicia enjoys being outdoors, playing recreational sports, and time with her dog, Sage.

Robert Yarbrough, PT, DPT

Bobby earned his bachelors in exercise science from Ashland University in 2018 and continued on to receive his Doctorate of PT from GVSU in 2022. He has been interning and volunteering at various PT clinics since 2015. Bobby is looking forward to expanding his expertise by becoming certified in COMT, McKenzie Method and TPI (golf fitness instructor). Bobby's favorite part of being in healthcare/PT is being part of a team that works together to help make a positive impact in individuals lives. Whether it is helping them return to sports, work or getting them back to doing their favorite activities, being a part of that journey and seeing meaningful results to that individual is what he enjoys the most. He became interested in PT as a career after suffering an injury in college football in which PT helped him return to doing the things he loves. Outside of work, he enjoys playing golf, watching sports, and spending time with family and friends.

Lucas Jenkins, PT, DPT

Lucas received his Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Health Services from Western Michigan University and subsequently achieved his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the same institution. Lucas is eager to apply his knowledge and skills in clinical practice while also taking on other specialty training including LSVT for Parkinsons, Orthopedic Manual Therapy, and the McKenzie Method training. He is enthusiastic and committed to continuously learning and growing in his field. He enjoys being in healthcare because it allows him to make a meaningful impact on patients' lives by helping to restore their function and well-being. He feels that being part of a trusted healthcare team is incredibly fulfilling, knowing that he can provide the best possible care and support to those in need. The ability to play a role in their journey towards better health brings him immense satisfaction and joy. Outside of work, Lucas enjoys spending quality time with his wife and dog, as well as with his parents. He also indulges in playing golf, watching college football (Go Blue!), and gaming with his friends.

Megan Bly, DPT, CLT Clinical Compliance Auditor

Megan graduated with a doctor of physical therapy degree in 2010. Megan has experience in orthopedic, sport medicine and general neurological conditions. Megan currently helps with clinical compliance, recruitment and quality assurance for both clinic and home health.

Heather Norris, PTA, CLT

Heather graduated from Henry Ford Community College in 2004 with an associates degree as a physical therapy assistant. She continued her education at WMU and graduated with a Bachelors in science. She is certified as a Certified Lymphedema Therapist from Klose Training since 2018. She has worked in all aspects of the therapy industry from skilled nursing facilities, top hospitals in Michigan, outpatient and is currently working in our home health care division. In her spare time she loves running and spending time outdoors camping and hiking with her family.

Gregg Tharge, PTA, CIMT, COMT

Gregg is a certified manual therapist and has solid expertise in manual therapy. He graduated in 2005 as a PT assistant from Kellog Community College and became certified in Integrated manual therapy in 2009. Gregg is the center coordinator for clinical education and has been awarded the Outstanding Clinical Instructor award 5 times. Gregg also teaches with Great Lakes Seminars as an assistant instructor. His expertise includes sports medicine, spine, complex sacroiliac joint issues, vestibular rehab (BPPV), and pediatric orthopedic injuries. He is Mckenzie trained in spine. Gregg recently got certified as an orthopedic manual therapist (COMT) for the spine and peripheral joints. Gregg is a very compassionate and caring therapist who often goes above and beyond for his patients. Gregg is a soccer coach and works closely with athletes.

Dawn Rolfe, PTA

Dawn graduated as a Physical Therapist Assistant from Kellogg Community College. She has over 20 years of experience in treating sports medicine, orthopedic,geriatric, and neurological patients. Dawn is trained in the McKenzie method as well as orthopedic manual therapy. Her favorite part about being in healthcare is that she gets to help others improve their ability to function so they can get back to enjoying life.

Rachel Ossino, PTA

Rachel graduated from WMU before going on to get her Physical Therapist Assistant License from Kellogg Community College. She has 5 years of clinical experience as a PTA but also has worked in various healthcare positions prior for about 10 years, giving her extensive knowledge in the field. Her favorite part of being in healthcare is working with the patients and the team to make a difference. She loves being able to watch patients get back to the activities they want to do. Outside of work, Rachel spends most of her free time with family and friends. She enjoys reading, camping, riding motorcycles, hanging out in the garage or around a bonfire.

Joe Richmond, PTA, COMT

Joe is a PT assistant and graduated from Kellog Community College. He has experience in treating orthopedic,sports medicine, geriatrics and neurological conditions. Joe also has experience working with lumbar radiculopathy patients and general orthopedic conditions. Joe is very passionate about his work and enjoys working with both outpatient and in-home patients. Joe recently got certified as an orthopedic manual therapist (COMT) for the spine and peripheral joints.He is also trained in Mckenzie method for spine.

Fiona Song, MS, OTR/L

Fiona was born and raised in Portage, MI. After high school, she attended WMU for both undergrad and graduate school, where she earned her masters in Occupational Therapy. She has 5 years of outpatient rehab experience treating a wide variety of diagnoses. Fiona is a lifelong learner and values being a part of the process that restores an individual’s livelihood and dignity. Her favorite part of being in healthcare is getting to know each and every patient personally! When not working, she enjoys running and rock climbing as well as spending time with her family and dog (of course)!

Lisa Buddemeier, OTL, LSVT

Lisa graduated from Western Michigan University in 1999 and was certified with the National Board for Occupational Therapy in 2000. She has 19 years experience working in outpatient rehabilitation. She specializes in Neurorehabilitation and has a great amount of experience and training with Stroke Rehabilitation, Parkinson's Disease, Traumatic Brain Injury, and visual disorders associated with neurologic conditions. She has been LSVT BIG certified since 2012. She also treats various types of upper extremity orthopedic and musculoskeletal injuries. In her free time she enjoys spending time watching her children play sports as well as traveling and staying active outdoors. She feels that the best part about her job is helping others achieve their personal goals and improving their level of independence.

Tracy Fate, SLP, LSVT

Tracy is a highly experienced speech threapist and has worked with a diverse population including pediatrics, young adults, and geriatric clients, and has treated many challenging diagnoses in her career. She has worked in rehabilitation hospital settings, private clinics, and schools. Tracy has completed training and received certification in Vital Stim Therapy for dysphagia as well as LSVT LOUD for Parkinson's Disease. She has performed videofluoroscopies to determine safest oral diets and appropriate dysphagia treatments. Tracy enjoys staff and family education on various topics that improve communication, cognition and lifestyle.

Brindlea Peterson, BS Business Manager

Brindlea is the Business Manager and community liaison for Rehab Specialists. She has 4 years experience in healthcare management and 8 years experience in customer service and marketing. Brindlea has her Bachelors of Science from Western Michigan University and hopes to attend medical school in the future. Her favorite part about this job is working with such a wonderful group of people and watching the amazing progress patients make in their physical therapy journey.

Cari Kay

Cari has over 20 years of customer service experience and more than 7 years experience with medical billing. Her favorite part about her job is being able to help patients get the care that they deserve. Outside of work, Cari is a busy mom to four kids! Her family loves going Up North and doing an annual trip to Drummond Island.

Freedom Jacques, Front Desk & Billing Assistant

Freedom graduated from WMU with her BA in Criminal Justice and a concentration in Philosophy and Sociology. Since then, she has almost three years of diverse experience in healthcare ranging from dental, medical and physical therapy. Her favorite part about being in healthcare is being of service and assistance to those in need of attention. She prides herself on being non biased in all ways and viewing each patient as they are, human beings in pain and in need of help. She loves being able to provide clear communication to patients and providers. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her two beautiful children, cooking, reading and writing poetry.

Haleigh Hokanson Rehab Assistant

Haleigh graduated from Western Michigan University in 2019 with a Bachelor's of Science and a Minor in Holistic Health. She plans to attend Graduate School for Physical Therapy. Haleigh is passionate about motivating patients to achieve their goals. Outside of work and school, she enjoys playing volleyball, hiking, and being a momma to her adorable 2 year old daughter.

Hannah Terry Rehab Assistant

Hannah has been in customer service for four years. She is in school pursuing a degree in the health sciences field. Her position includes helping patients while they work with their therapist and helping with the front desk. Outside of work, Hannah enjoys cooking, being around animals, shopping, and most of all, being a mom to her son!

Marissa Beraza Rehab Tech

Marissa attended WMU and graduated from there with a Bachelors in Athletic Training. She has been in the healthcare field for about 5 years and her favorite part is getting to know new people and hearing their fun stories about their lives. Outside of work, Marissa is a very active/spontaneous human who loves to travel and hang around her family and friends. One fun fact about her is that she drives a jeep wrangler with the steering wheel on the right side!

Kate Summers , LMT, Licensed Massage therapist

Kate is a licensed massage therapist with a practice spanning 19 years, starting in 2004. She has pursued her education in various countries across Europe and the UK, gaining expertise in a diverse array of massage techniques. Her repertoire includes therapeutic massage, Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, and more, encompassing over 25 different modalities. Kate is dedicated to delivering exceptional results and prioritizes the comfort and specific needs of each client. Her massage approach is deep and soothing, ensuring a pain-free experience. With a heightened sense of touch, she intuitively attends to every muscle, promoting relaxation and rejuvenation. Specializing in alleviating shoulder and back tension, migraines, lower back pain, and joint discomfort, Kate provides targeted relief to her clients. Her passion for rock climbing has contributed to developing strong hand dexterity, benefiting her massage practice. Additionally, she finds joy in hiking and practicing meditation, nurturing a balanced and holistic approach to wellness.

Nicole Arnott - Rehab Assistant

Nicole is a rehab assistant and has more than 15 years experience with medical office customer service. Nicole is also a licensed Massage Therapist with over 14 years of experience. She graduated from Everest Institute specializing in Swedish, Deep tissue & Relaxation massage techniques. She is very passionate about helping people on their healing journey!

Devin Uhrich, Rehab Assistant

Devin is currently studying at Western Michigan University to achieve a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science. When he graduates, he plans to stay at WMU to earn his Master's in Athletic Training or pursue his Doctorate of Physical Therapy. His favorite part about being in healthcare is being in a position where he can provide people the help and support patients need to help them live a healthier and better life. He also enjoys being on his feet and getting to talk to a lot of great people. Outside of work, Devin is very active and spends a lot of time involved in sports, whether it's playing intramural football, golfing, or snowmobiling in the winter.
